Stefano Zanetti

Not a lot is known of Stefano Zanetti since he left for Rome at the age of twenty two, some can argue that not a lot has been shown since. Quiet and well learned (some say self learned as his father the book maker, Giuseppe Zanetti of Turin, has not a lot to teach one who does not want to know about the creation and care of books). Spending most of his life in Turin he moved to Venice, where he remained for two more years studying art although some say he was no good before heading to Rome. Having spent nearly all of his allowance to the dismay of his father who disowned him upon hearing rumours that he had married whilst there.

Having found himself in Rome Stefano soon learned of the more interesting pleasures, finding food and wines most palatable and agreeable even if his modest funding were not enough to quell his cravings for them.

Whilst he might not have had much of an interest in creating books Stefano finds much more pleasure in the reading of said items, seeking hidden wisdom past down the ages to those who look for them.

Stefano seems to be a gifted speaker, able to put people at ease and carry conversations over a great many subjects appearing worldly in most. Whilst not in the same circles as more higher thought individuals he keeps his eyes and ears open knowing full well that one can gain the trust of a more powerful person through usefulness.

Stefano sees the church as the way forwards to progress his ambitions but what those ambitions are he keeps to himself, even his best friend in Rome Bertuccio Alvarez knows not. Whatever plans and influence he has shall have to left to play them out in his own time, however long it takes.
